Daniel Dean
Owner and Managing Director
Daniel is a senior financial advisor, former investment banker and executive who possesses more than 29 years of experience in the infrastructure, project finance and energy and utilities industry sectors. Throughout his career, he has provided investment banking and advisory services to companies, investors, governmental entities and institutions on more than 250 transactions, totaling over $35 billion.
Currently based in Kennewick (Tri-Cities), Washington (USA), Daniel is the owner and Managing Director of Dean Capital Strategies, LLC (DCS). Daniel has recently served as a Senior Strategic Finance Manager and Executive Advisor to Energy Northwest in their proposed initial deployment of up to 960MW of X-Energy's Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technologies. Formerly based in Vienna, Austria, Daniel was the founder, CEO and a Board Member of the International Bank for Nuclear Infrastructure-Implementation Organisation (IBNI-IO). Additionally, within the period 2015-24, Daniel recently served in the following roles:
- Expert senior advisor with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and their Member States.
- Expert infrastructure and PPP advisor with the International Finance Corporation (IFC, a part of the World Bank Group).
- Expert Evaluator in European Commission's Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) evaluation of Intraday energy storage grant application proposals
- Affiliate of Nuclear Economics Consulting Group (NECG).
- Consultant to USAID, AECOM, STRABAG, DT Global, AGIAS Advisory and Global Venture Consulting.
In the period 1997-2015, Daniel served as an investment banker in Infrastructure Finance, PPP Advisory, Energy and Utilities, Mergers & Acquisitions, Project Finance and U.S. Municipal Finance. Throughout this phase of Daniel's career he worked for the following firms:

- George K. Baum & Co. (Denver, Colorado, USA)

Daniel brings significant multi-dimensional expertise and experience in advising on large complex infrastructure projects and programs. His core expertise ranges from structuring and negotiating key commercial and contractual agreements, PPP and alternative ownership and project delivery models, risk allocation, credit analysis, financial modeling, equity and debt capital fundraising, mergers & acquisitions, due diligence, training and capacity building and strategic advisory services.
